What Makes Our Inn by the Sea Different?

Monday, February 1st, 2021

Because Cape Cod is within driving distance of so many major metropolitan areas, and we’re known for our plethora of outdoor activities, the summer of 2020 was surprisingly busy. Once restrictions were lifted in June, it was full steam ahead. Assuming (hoping!) the pandemic situation will have abated somewhat by the ’21 season, and with vaccines now available, you may be planning a summer vacation and looking for an inn by the sea on Cape Cod.

If that’s exactly what you’re thinking, you will find you have many options from which to choose. So what makes our Cape Cod beach hotel different? We’ll tell you!

Location, Location, Location

Not only is Seadar Inn by the Sea less than 100 yards from the beach, we’re also within walking distance of charming downtown Harwich Port, and just a mile from bustling Saquatucket Harbor. In town you’ll find dozens of restaurants. Whatever you’re looking for, whether date night worthy, family friendly or hopping club scene, it’s right on Main Street. There are also shops ranging from elegant home décor and clothing boutiques to a kid-centric kite and toy shop, and an old-fashioned penny candy store. On Saquatucket Harbor, you can feast on fried clams while you watch the boats sail in and out of the harbor, or hop on a boat yourself. Freedom Cruise Line offers daily ferry service to Nantucket; fishing charters and seal watches are also available.

Children Welcome

Many inns on Cape Cod are grand old sea captains’ homes that have been repurposed into B&Bs. Filled with antiques and oozing in history, they are charming options, but many – understandably – don’t welcome children. While Seadar Inn has lots of vintage charm, it’s of a less precious variety, and children of all ages are welcome. We even have suites and mini suites that are perfect for small families, as well as several adjoining rooms with a door that connects them, which are a great option for larger families.

Affordability & Flexibility

There are a handful of luxurious waterfront resorts on Cape Cod, and they are lovely. And with sumptuous rooms and every imaginable amenity, they are also – again, understandably – quite pricey. They also tend to have a lengthy minimum required stay in the high season – as many as five nights. While we take great pride in our hotel, and it shows, we offer a more casual approach, and our pricing reflects this. And we do have a minimum stay in the high season, but it’s just two nights for a mid-week visit and three on the weekends.
